Social structure analysis and sociology of conflict

Welcome to the research group of sociology with focus on social structural analysis and conflict sociology.

We examine the ways in which membership to social worlds are being organized. We are interested in how categorial and relational affiliations (like ethnicity, ‘race’, gender) are ‘done’ situationally, how these affiliations interact and how they merge with interactive obligations and institutional roles. The theoretical foundations can be found particularly in the sociology of everyday life and sociology of knowledge. We follow an interpretative methodology in empirical social research.
