Project 9: Expectation and selective attention

This project examines how humans use selective visual attention to sample visual scenes for information. We assume that humans use prior knowledge acquired in former encounters to predict the most promising parts to attend. In the previous project phases, we have examined the role of context and spatial regularity learning on attentional selection. In the final project phase, we want to focus on other forms of learning. We will use various visual search tasks and measure performance by means of behavioral measures, eye tracking and EEG/ERP parameters known to reflect attention deployment.
