MESA is an open-source web-based platform and tool for the automated assessment of synthetic DNA fragments and simulation of DNA synthesis, storage, sequencing, and PCR errors. It is designed to allow easy hands-on for unexperienced users while also supporting fine-grained modification of all parameters for more experienced users. The generated results can be accessed using a unique URL and thus can be shared with other researchers. Additionally, users can optionally register themselves to save and request publication of their configurations. MESA supports batch processing by allowing both input and output to be in the ".fasta" format. Alternatively, MESA provides an API for direct integration into existing software.

The software can be accessed on mesa.mosla.de, using Docker via Dockerhub or from source on Github.
