AI in Biomedicine Lab
The AI in Biomedicine Lab (AIB) is a joint research facility of research groups from the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science and the Department of Medicine.
The goal of AIB is to bring the methods and techniques of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science to biomedicine in order to analyze biomedical data, generate new biomedical insights, and thereby improve patient care.
In the AIB, researchers with different professional backgrounds work together, complementing each other in a special way. This allows extensive expertise in the field of AI methods to be combined with applications in biomedicine. The closely linked PhD program in Data Science also benefits from this networking of different research groups. In addition, students of the bachelor's and master's degree programs in Data Science are introduced to relevant issues at an early stage and can gain initial experience here during their studies.
Our guiding principle is: Biomedical Data Science > Data Science + Biomedical Data.
The AIB is helping to make Hessen the leading region in Germany in the field of artificial intelligence in biomedicine.
