Navigating Gender Equality in Science: Past Achievements, Best Practices and Future Directions.
The conference will focus on important topics regarding gender equality policies in the field of science.In response to the persisting gender gap in academia, scientific and higher education institutions in the European Union have embraced Gender Equality Plans (GEPs). These plans are now prerequisites for EU funding and have stimulated private sector participation in adopting GEPs. While proceeding in this direction, they face a context in which recent political shifts and debates around gender concepts have attempted to cast doubt on the necessity of these policies.
