The Philipps-Universität offers various mentoring programs for (junior) female scientists of all qualification levels.

External

Mentoring Hessen is a joint project of Hessian universities and universities of applied sciences to advance the careers of women and exists since 2017. The aim is to increase the percentage of women in attractive specialist and management positions in both academia and business.

ProCareer.MINT is the funding line of Mentoring Hessen for female MINT students. The aim is to support you as a female student of natural sciences or engineering in your professional and personal development and to give you a practical insight into professional life.

ProCareer.Doc is the support line for female doctoral candidates and early postdocs at Hessian universities and universities of applied sciences. The mentoring program aims to support you in developing individual career strategies and in making decisions about your career path after your doctorate.

ProAcademia is the funding line of Mentoring Hessen for early postdocs and advanced doctoral students of Hessian universities and universities of applied sciences who see their career path in science or non-university research and want to prepare for it. The program combines mentoring, career-specific intensive training and strategic networking.

ProProfessur is the funding line that directly prepares, supports and accompanies advanced female scientists at Hessian universities and universities of applied sciences on their way to professorship. The goal is to support you in your scientific profile building, strategic career planning and in the immediate application process in order to successfully manage the transition and increase the proportion of women in professorships. 

This mailing list with the name "physikerinnen" (female physicists) was initiated at the national meeting of female physicists in Göttingen in 1995. It is intended to serve as an information and discussion forum for all women physicists. Information and links are available on the homepage of the AK Chancengleichheit (work group equal opportunities) of the DPG, which also emerged from the physicists' conferences.

The homepage of the national pact for women in MINT-occupations with the aim of exploiting the full potential of women in scientific and technical occupations in view of the emerging shortage of skilled workers.

The AKC aims to improve the framework conditions for women physicists, to strengthen them and to promote networking, among other things through conferences such as the German Conference of Women Physicists, participations in the spring meetings of the DPG and the International Conference on Women in Physics (ICWIP) as well as the organization of workshops and making outstanding women scientists visible through the Lise Meitner Lectures, our Physicist of the Week project and interviews with women physicists.
