Efficient exciton transport is crucial for the performance of organic semiconductor devices, but to understand the underlying transport mechanisms, different contributions such as intrinsic singlet and triplet diffusion, as well as trapping need to be disentangled from each other. Here, we demonstrate that combining spectral and spatial information from time resolved photoluminescence studies is a powerful tool to unravel the underlying exciton dynamics and we find that temperature and material quality have a strong influence on exciton diffusion in the endothermic singlet fission material tetracene. The study is collaborative work of AG Gerhard and AG Witte in Marburg.
