02.05.2023 Small Molecule Activation with Bismuth!
Carbon dioxide and carbon disulfide readily insert into the Bi–N bond of cationic bismuth amides and generate isolable, but metastable products. In the case of carbon dioxide, a (formal) carbon dioxide-catalyzed CH activation can be realized. In the case of carbon disulfide, the first example of a light-induced bismuthinidene transfer reaction was uncovered. These results have just been accepted for publication in Chem. Sci. - congratulations to all co-authors!
