07.08.2024 Publication on Bismuth-Catalyzed CH-Activation!
Bismuth Catalysis: The quest for more sustainable routes to value-added chemicals is one of the most important challenges in modern synthetic chemistry. In collaboration with the Wang group (Pittsburgh), we could show that cationic bismuth complexes act as unprecedentedcatalysts for CH-activation reactions at C(sp3)-centers. The bismuth compounds also facilitate subsequent catalyzed C–C coupling events in one-pot-protocols. The mechanism of the sequence of reactions could be elucidated in combined experimental/DFT studies. Our findings have recently been accepted for publication in J. Am. Chem. Soc. - congratulations to all the researchers who contributed!
