Doctorates in the field of history of medicine for physicians and dentists
The topics of medical history are diverse and offer numerous opportunities for doctoral theses. We currently give preference to topics related to the Marburg medical-historical anatomical collection.
In your research you will apply working methods from the humanities and cultural studies. To this end, we offer seminars, which you must attend before starting your specific research project. These include introductions to working in the history of science and researching sources and literature. The scope is 2–4 semester hours per week over two semesters. In order to write your dissertation, it is essential that you plan a semester off in which you devote yourself entirely to your doctoral thesis.
