Molecular Genetics
Prof. Dr. Hans-Ulrich Mösch
The research group for Molecular Genetics investigates the mechanisms underlying the development and pathogenesis of fungi employing a wide variety of genetic, biochemical, cell biological and biophysical methods. Our goals are to uncover the molecular and structural basis of cell adhesion, cell wall biogenesis, signal transduction and transcriptional regulation and to understand how these processes enable eukaryotic microorganisms to choose between different lifestyles and colonize diverse ecological niches. Our group also offers numerous teaching courses in the Bachelor of Biology and Master of Molecular and Cellular Biology study programs along with various Bachelor, Master and Ph.D. thesis research projects.
