  Molecular Physiology of Plant-Fungal-Interactions (Voll lab)

  Successful host colonization by plant pathogens relies on the diversion of organic and inorganic solutes from the colonized tissue. My group investigates metabolic processes in the interaction of plants with fungal pathogens and how the allocation of organic carbon and nitrogen between host and pathogen is controlled on the local and systems level.

  Cell Walls in Plant Defense (Engelsdorf lab)

  Cell walls provide structural support to plant cells and function as barriers against pathogen infection. Impairment of cell wall integrity leads to the activation of signaling pathways. We examine plant cell wall composition, cell wall integrity signaling and coordination with other defense responses in the context of plant-pathogen interaction.

  Molecular Plant Physiology and Development (Forreiter/Galland lab)

  Gravity and light-induced signalling in plants ultimately leads to auxin-dependent bending of the roots and stem. The resulting bending angle is always a product of both stimuli. Our goal is to study early elements involved in both signalling events in order to understand when and how both pathways are merged to redirect auxin flow.
