Figure 6. Arabidopsis translational SWEET12-YFP reporter plants challenged with mCherry-labeled C. higginsianum.
SWEET12-YFP fluorescence can be seen in the plasma membrane of two host epidermis cells, while mCherry-labelled biotrophic hyphae of the fungus are present in adjacent epidermal cells not expressing the YFP reporter construct.
