Our research group “Prokaryotic RNA biology” investigates RNA-processing mechanisms and RNA-binding proteins in different environmentally relevant bacteria and archaea with a special focus on the characterization of RNA modifications and the investigation of non-canonical CRISPR-Cas systems. Within the the M4C consortium we want to understand the role of non-canonical CRISPR-Cas systems in stress response and program new regulatory circuits based on CRISPR-Cas technologies.
Research Focus:
Microbes as Responders; Microbes providing Solutions
