MINT Summer School 2025 for Girls

As in previous years, SYNMIKRO will once again contribute to the program of the MINT Summer School for Girls, organized by the Equal Opportunities Team of Philipps University. This year, we are welcoming a group of 40 young women from various regions across Hessen who are interested in studying MINT subjects at our university.
During the week-long program, the participants will explore different departments, including Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics/Informatics, Physics, and Geography. SYNMIKRO’s contribution will be an introduction to life sciences and molecular biology.
We will host small groups of students . Each group will spend three hours in a SYNMIKRO research group. The session includs hands-on lab work as well as opportunities for the high school students to engage with university students, PhD candidates and researchers. The aim is to give them insights into studying life sciences in Marburg and student life in general.
Our SYNMIKRO groups will offer two sessions: protein purification/crystallization and electron microscopy. Each session will run both in the morning and afternoon, with five students per session.
