Microcosm Earth Center
The Microcosm Earth Center is an inter-institutional and interdisciplinary center for the promotion of early career researchers. The center supports outstanding young talents across all career levels and provides them with the opportunity to develop their own research topic in a highly collaborative environment, and with state-of-the-art technologies. The members of the center study the role of microorganisms in the global climate, health and environmental interactions to find solutions for the major challenges of our time. The Microcosm Earth Center is financed by the state of Hesse, the Max Planck Society, the Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology and the University of Marburg.
The Microcosm Earth Center houses the early career research groups of Dr. Judith Klatt, Dr. Julia Kurth and Dr. Martina Preiner. In 2023, it additionally supports four postdoctoral and three doctoral researchers, and welcomes four pre-doctoral researchers from the Global South. For more information click here.
