Research group Nadine Biedenkopf
We are a junior research group at the Institute of Virology established since the end of 2019 investigating transcription and replication strategies of highly pathogenic filoviruses (funded by the Forschungscampus Mittelhessen).
The main focus of our work is on the regulation of viral RNA synthesis in various highly pathogenic viruses, such as Ebola or Marburg viruses, but also MERS coronavirus or SARS coronavirus.
Furthermore, we establish pseudovirus/particle surrogate systems for virus neutralization assays, which have integrated foreign surface proteins, as well as assays for testing antiviral compounds against highly pathogenic viruses under BSL-4 conditions.
