Center
The Center for Human Genetics makes important contributions to the fields of teaching, research, and health care. Our research focus is the elucidation of the genetic causes of multifactorial disease. Particular research interests are oncological, immunological / inflammatory, and psychiatric diseases, as well as developmental disorders. A further scientific focus of the Center for Human Genetics is the elucidation of gene regulatory mechanisms. Our teaching activities encompass human medicine, biology, and human biology. Here, the basics of human genetics are taught via practical approaches.
In the field of health-care, the Center for Human Genetics offers personal counseling sessions to individuals with a suspected genetic disorder and/or a family history of genetic illness. In addition, the Center for Human Genetics offers state-of-the-art cytogenetic and molecular genetic diagnostic services.
