Molecular Cell Physiology - Prof. Bogdan

The formation and maintenance of tissues and organs require dynamic changes and adaptations in cell shape and cell motility. The analysis of the actin cytoskeleton and the involved molecules, signaling protein complexes and regulatory mechanisms are therefore essential for a profound understanding of the molecular cell biology of tissues and organs and the pathology of human diseases such as infections, acute and chronic inflammation, immune diseases and maladaptive remodeling processes. To study these processes in vivo, we combine Drosophila genetics, cell biology, high-resolution imaging techniques (3D-SIM, 4D-SDM, LSM, light-sheet microscopy) and single-cell RNA analysis.
