Central projects: Z-Biobanking – Z-Imaging – Z-Pathology
Dr. Katrin Roth (Imaging)
Prof. Petra Pfefferle (Biobank)
Prof. Carsten Denkert (Pathology)
Three central projects will aid in standardization efforts within the CRU as well as provide advanced expertise complementing the individual projects and supporting the entire network.
The central project Z-Biobanking will perform the acquisition, storage and distribution of patient tissue, blood and stool samples in order to support the projects of the CRU.
The central project Z-Imaging will provide advanced in-vivo imaging techniques such as mouse intravital imaging by means of small animal ultrasound or two-photon microscopy as well as support studies of live/fixed tissue samples by spinning-disc microscopy or confocal imaging.
The central project Z-Pathology will support all CRU members in histologic and pathologic assessments. The focus will be on various tissue staining technologies and their analyses, as well as on the investigation of prognostic biomarkers in pancreatic cancer.
