Learning German in Marburg

Language Center

The Language Center in Marburg is part of the university. German courses are held there before the semester starts (intensive course) and during the semester. You can earn ECTS points for your Learning Agreement for these courses. You can find more information on deadlines, prices, etc., on the website for the Language Center.

Adult Education Center

The Adult Education Center is an institution for continuing education and also offers intensive language courses. However, these generally do not align with the university’s semester calendar. In addition, no ECTS points are available for these courses. After the language coursework, however, you can take a test at the Goethe Institute. Language tandems

For students who already have the foundations of the German language down, the Language Center offers so-called “language tandems” or language exchanges. You will meet regularly with another person who would like to learn your language, and each of you will deepen your language skills through conversation.
