HeFDI launch event
On 16 May 2017, the innovation and structural development project HeFDI - Hessian Research Data Infrastructures was ceremonially opened in the auditorium of the Old University in Marburg. Around 150 guests attended the launch event and the keynote speech "Securing digital data as a resource. The Hessian Research Data Infrastructures in the Context of the European Open Science Cloud" by Prof. Dr. Klaus Tochtermann, member of the EU High Level Expert Group European Open Science Cloud. This was accompanied by a welcoming address by Ministerialdirigentin Irene Bauerfeind-Rossmann from the Hessian Ministry of Science and the Arts.
HeFDI is funded with a total of 3.4 million euros from 2016 to December 2020. Within the framework of HeFDI, the eleven participating universities cooperatively offer advisory services in the area of research data management for researchers at their respective locations and, together with the libraries and computer centres, are establishing infrastructure services, e.g. research data repositories. The aim of the project is to establish local infrastructure services in Hessen that will benefit Hessian researchers.
