HeFDI Data Talk: NFDI4Biodiversity - Biodiversity, Ecology and Environmental Data
NFDI4Biodiversity is a consortium within the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) with a focus on services for biodiversity research and ecology. Countless studies document the decline of biodiversity on our planet. Pressing questions are what effects the decline in biodiversity has on the ecosystems affected and what (anthropogenic) influences reduce or promote biodiversity. In order to understand the complex interrelationships and derive recommendations for action, diverse, quality-assured and FAIR data are needed. These include the occurrence of plants, animals and microorganisms, including their genotypic, phenotypic and functional diversity, as well as their interaction in populations and ecosystems. NFDI4Biodiversity brings together 49 partners from academia, government and citizen science to advance the mobilisation and publication of existing data, develop efficient workflows and provide tools and services to support analysis.
Speaker: Prof. Dr. Frank Oliver Glöckner, University of Bremen, AWI Bremerhaven, GFBio e.V.
