Central User Account for Students (Students-Account)
Students automatically receive a central user account for students (student account) upon enrollment. The validity ends at the end of each semester, it is automatically extended by the re-registration. Without re-registration or in case of disenrollment, the user account is still valid for 2 weeks (after the end of the semester), see Validity and Blocking.
You can activate your user account for the first time usually two working days after receiving the enrollment documents via the following web form:

You can conveniently perform various account actions yourself using web forms:
- Query username, set password
- Change password
- Retrieve account identification data
- Request / delete e-mail alias
- Set up e-mail forwarding / automatic reply
- Configure e-mail spam filter
- Register a copy card for scan-to-mail

The account for students has been available since the summer semester 1995, and since the winter semester 2007/2008 it has been made available to all students free of charge.
