For an e-exam, you need:
- Your respective login name, which was sent to your students address by the e-exam service via email.
- As for paper exams: your photo ID (if necessary also your student ID) to check your identity.
- If necessary, earplugs, e.g. for e-exams with a high percentage of free text
The exam password, which is the same for everyone, is only displayed immediately at the start of the e-exam.

Most of the e-exams take place in the PC-room “E-Klausuren” (03D25) in the multi-purpose building on the Lahnberge. You can reach it from the city in about 15 minutes. E-exams can also be written in the Central Medical Library (ZMB). You will be informed via email in which room you will be writing an e-exam prior to the exam.

Yes, the login names are exam-specific, i.e. you will receive a new login name before each exam and therefore also for retests.
Inhalt ausklappen Inhalt einklappen I have not received a login name; can I still take the exam?
If you have not received a login name, please check your mailbox in your University Webmail and check whether forwarding setups are working. Otherwise, please contact your examiner or examination office. They can then register you at the e-exam service. If it is no longer possible to clarify the matter due to time constraints, please come to the exam date - according to the examiner's instructions, you may then receive a login name.
Inhalt ausklappen Inhalt einklappen How do the admission and login procedure for an e-exam work?
The examiner or the technical supervisors let you in, you put your jackets and bags away from the workstations and take a seat at one of the computers. There, you usually only need your photo ID and your login name. Shortly before the start of the exam period, the exam password, which is identical for all of you, will be displayed on the screen and you can log in to the exam system with your login name and password.

You can change the answers as often as you like until the submission of the e-exam. Furthermore, you can mark questions and switch between questions using an overview page. If you have finished the exam, you will be asked several times if you want to submit it. Inadvertent early submission is thus practically impossible.

If your exam computer crashes or other problems occur, you can continue to write the exam on a reserve computer. You will have to log in again and the exam will be in the same condition as before the crash.

No, you can decide for yourself how to distribute the total exam time for answering each question.
Inhalt ausklappen Inhalt einklappen Is the e-exam automatically terminated after the examination period has expired?
No, the e-exam ends according to the examiners' or supervisors' instructions by submission of the examinees. Examiners or supervisors also regulate a possible extension of the processing time in case of unforeseen technical or other problems.

The examiner decides on the use of auxiliary material (e.g. calculators, notepaper, scripts), as in the case of paper exams.

E-exams represent an e-learning procedure according to §4 of the statutes for the protection of personal data in the case of multimedia use of e-learning procedures.
