Create a Network Connection in Linux

Requirements

• These instructions exclusively refer to AD accounts.
• In order to access networks from outside the university network you need a VPN connection.

Create a network connection with a file manager (e.g.Nautilus)

• In the address bar type in smb://ad.uni-marburg.de\<username >@<physical address >.
  
  • Your username is the same one you use to log into your workstation computer.
  • Select the physical address for the home and group directories set by your department or institution.
  • When typing in the physical path, replace “\” with “/”.
