MarMento - Mentoring Program for International Students

Seminar on training as a mentor for international students

At MarMento, students from higher semesters (mentors) support their new fellow students from abroad (mentees) for a semester with study-related challenges or in everyday life. This can make it easier to settle in at the university and in Marburg and perhaps even to make friends.

Are you studying at the University of Marburg and want to pass on your experience and expand your intercultural skills? Then become a mentor at MarMento!

Please note: Good German skills are necessary to participate as a mentor

Information, registration and dates 

You will be trained as a mentor in a seminar. Students with MarSkills in their study regulations can take the seminar in the module "MarMento: International Mentoring Skills" via the central study area in MarSkills and collect 3 ECTS points for participating in the seminar and acting as a mentor. 

Seminar Dates

• whole-day-seminar, Saturday, October 19 and October 20, in presence
• reflection session, Friday, November 22, 2-4 p.m. (online)
• whole-day-seminar, Saturday, December 14, 9 a.m to 1 p.m. (online)
• closing reflection session together with Mentees, Friday, February 21, 2025, 2-4 p.m. (online)
