Information on cooperation with China for administrators
Are you an administrative or technical staff member involved in research or teaching cooperations with the People's Republic of China? Whether it's about visiting scientists from China, business trips to China or cooperation agreements with Chinese partners, you can contact the China-Competence Service-point at any time: china-kompetenz@uni-marburg.de (phone: +49 6421 28-26154).
We will be happy to support you. Please also contact us if you are still missing content in our information portal.
You will also find all the information you need here if you are interested in China independently of your day-to-day work and would like to get to know China as part of an educational leave or exchange programme for technical and administrative staff, for example. The China Competence Service Centre is also there to help you with these topics.

As an employee of the State of Hesse (special regulations apply to civil servants), you are entitled to educational leave, which you can also use to learn Chinese, for example - possibly even on site in China.
You are normally entitled to up to five days of educational leave (with a five-day working week). Unused days can be carried over to the following year on application. You then have up to ten days of educational leave that you can use.
In order to use your educational leave for Chinese language courses in Germany or China, you must find an educational event that has been recognized by the Hessian Ministry for Social Affairs and Integration. You can use the following search portal (search for events, keyword "Chinese"): https://arbeitswelt.hessen.de/bildungsurlaub/veranstaltungen-und-veranstalter-suchen/
In the past, language courses from providers in China were also possible (e.g. MandaLingua Chinese Language Institute, Shanghai). Currently (June 2024) this does not seem to be the case. Should such offers occur again, we will inform you here.
