Cooperation project between KNEU and UMR offers comprehensive digital learning and teaching opportunities

The Russian war in Ukraine has had a major destructive impact on the infrastructure of the Ukrainian education and higher education system. The DAAD program line "Ukraine digital" therefore supports the development and implementation of virtual courses.

The University of Marburg and the Kyiv National Economic University Vadym Hetman (KNEU) have expanded their cooperation, which began in 2008, and have been running the "KNEU on the MO:VE" project with DAAD funding since July 2022. The Corporate Finance and Controlling Department at KNEU and the Marburg Centre for Institutional Economics (MACIE) at UMR play a key role here.

The project includes the development and offer of digital courses, the expansion and professionalization of the digital infrastructure, funding through scholarships and teaching assignments as well as the joint development of curricula, the recognition of academic achievements and new double degree programmes.

Via the virtual exchange program MarburgOnline: VirtualExchange - MO:VE, Ukrainian students at KNEU can attend digitally offered courses, apply for stipends for their online studies, and use the entire digital infrastructure of the University of Marburg. Ukrainian lecturers contribute courses, particularly for the Master's degrees in Financial Management and Controlling and Investment Management and Bachelor's degrees in Corporate Finance and Investment Management. Joint course work leverages their expertise and furthers the development of digital teaching methods.

In this way, the project significantly supports KNEU in maintaining the course work and thus offering prospects for a successful graduation or continuation of an academic career despite the severe restrictions imposed by the war. At the same time, the project promotes the development of innovative course programs at UMR.

The close collaboration in the project promotes present and future cooperation between UMR and KNEU, and will be of fundamental importance for reconstruction
