Languages

The Language Center offers courses in eight modern foreign languages taught in a variety of formats. As a central service and educational institution at the university, the Language Center specializes in supporting students and staff in acquiring and developing their linguistic and intercultural skills. The courses on offer range from semester-long classroom courses and blended learning formats to intensive compact courses and tailor-made courses for specific target groups and technical languages.

Our action-oriented approach focuses on communicating as much as possible in the target language and trying out authentic communication situations relevant to studies and work. In addition, supporting explanations in German (or in English in German as a foreign language courses) are used as needed, especially at lower levels, to facilitate the learning process and create a solid linguistic foundation.
