Placement Procedure
Who must take a placement test?
- If you have never learned any Chinese, you clearly do not have to take a placement test. Your only booking option then is an A1.1 course.
- If you have learned some Chinese in the past, a placement test is mandatory. The result will indicate at which level you can continue at the Language Center.
- Exception: Students who have successfully completed a Chinese course at the Language Center in the previous semester can book a class on the next level without an additional test (follow-up registration). However, this is limited to a certain period of time, as specified in the email notifications sent out to those eligible for follow-up registration.
What does the placement test for Chinese look like?
The placement test for Chinese consists of a written and an oral part. The written part tests your knowledge in vocabulary, grammar and reading comprehension. The oral part tests your speaking skills and listening comprehension. The placement test will take place on Wednesday 16 October, 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. in room 00/022, Biegenstraße 12. The test and the evaluation will take approximately 60 minutes. You will receive your test result immediately after the test.
You can register directly on Wednesday 16 October 2024, from 6:00 p.m. via the course program.
