Semester Program - German as a Foreign Language


The courses for German as a Foreign Language offered by the Language Centre are open to all members of the Philipps-Universität. They include semester courses at the A1-C1 level and two intensive courses.

Classes preparing for language exams that are needed for the application at a German university like Testdaf or DSH are NOT offered by the Language Center. If you are interested in the DSH exam, please contact the Studienkolleg Mittelhessen.

Winter Semester 2024/25

  • Partial level courses A1.1 - C1.1
  • Mainly face-to-face courses
  • Course duration: 4 or 3 SWS + self-study units
  • Textbook-based courses
  • Placement test required
  • 6 ECTS credits 
  • Free of charge for exchange students

The course offer for the winter semester 2024/25 is now available. The placement procedure begins in mid-September. Course booking is on 16 October at 6 pm.
