R has become one of the most popular statistical programming and data visualization environments in academia and beyond. In this workshop, you will learn the basic usage and syntax of R.
Intended Learning Outcomes
- You are able to read and handle data (practical exercises and hands-on tutorials).
- You know how to construct graphs, e.g., histograms, scatter plots (practical exercises).
- You are able to apply basic statistical methods, e.g., regression analysis, t-tests, chi-square test, ANOVA (practical exercises and hands-on tutorials).
- You know how to interpret and save the resulting R output (input and practical exercises).
- You have an overview on scripting practices and extension packages, e.g., advanced statistical methods and visualization techniques, which might be applicable for your own work (input and discussion).
Requirements
Participants will need a students or staff account of Philipps-Universität Marburg.

Doctoral candidates from all disciplines with little or no prior experience using R

Until 14 days before the beginning of the course at mara.lnw@uni-marburg.de.
Registration is binding. In case of non-appearance without reason or cancellation twelfe days beforehand, the full registration fee has to be payed.
