Style means the way something is done and how language is used; academic/scientific writing style presents written material in a certain way. Generally, it is characterized by linearity, clarity, and organization. In this writing genre, style is considered a skill that everyone can learn as well as a pleasurable creative activity reflecting your personality and intellect.
In this workshop, you will learn how to improve your scientific style by following the conventions of academic writing and by developing your style as a means of self-expression. You will become familiar with the basic rules of style in academic writing in the life and natural sciences, with the most important strategies of word choice and syntax, and you will be able to identify your own style of writing. Your texts will benefit from a new awareness for style in academic writing and it will be easier for you to write effective and readable written works.
