MARA DAY is an annual event organized by MArburg University Research Academy (MARA) that offers junior scholars at Philipps-Universität Marburg an opportunity for informational exchange and networking. MARA DAY is open to all but is geared toward doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers and their mentors at Philipps-Universität in particular.
This year’s topic, "How Do We Communicate in the Scientific Community?", addresses a very current issue. Three short workshops in the afternoon will shed light on scientific communication from three different points of view. Our evening program will revolve around the topic of open science. Experts will familiarize all interested participants with the variety of options for providing open access to one’s own research and making it usable for others. Afterward, the floor will be open for debate! Extensive literature on open science will be available on site and to take home with you.
The traditional highlight of MARA DAY will once again be the competition for the best short presentation: Doctoral candidates and postdoctoral scholars will present their research projects in three-minute intervals. Who will be able to spark the most enthusiasm among the audience for her or his complex topic? And MARA DAY has even more to offer: In the cloister of Alte Universität posters on research projects will vie for audience approval. The best presentation and best poster will be awarded a prize at the end of the event.
