In this workshop for international doctoral candidates, you will learn the rules of self-promotion, gain an idea of possible career paths, develop your skills profile as a basis for the management of your career, learn about career-oriented networking, and outline your imagined career path.

Working and conducting research in academia offers many opportunities for networking and career planning. Doctoral candidates should be able to transform these opportunities into supportive networks and promising career paths no matter whether they seek to pursue careers inside or outside of academia. Career planning is as vital as planning research. Researchers need to be aware of their skills, should know how to use self-promotion to establish their own brand, and ought to be able to adopt a strategic view of the career landscape to be successful. The most important thing that researchers themselves can do is take the lead in their own career planning.
