The workshop is designed to help early career scientists cut a fine figure in public presentations, conference attendances, walk-throughs, peer reviews, and public outreach activities: with classic lecture as well as elements of elevator pitch, science slam, and famelab.
How much can I say in how much time? How do I get into my topic ideally, how deep do I dig into the details and what message do I give to the audience? What is a kitchen call and how do I use it? What belongs on presentation "slides" and how do I design them optimally? What do I need to consider when timing what I say and what I show? Which technical terms are suitable for which audience?
Intended Learning Outcomes
After the course,
