Poster sessions are an integral part of almost every scientific conference. Their purpose is to highlight research results, visualize them, and stimulate discussion. To draw your audience in, you need a crystal clear content structure, a text format optimized for best readability, and well-chosen graphics. Above all, you need to thoroughly think through how to organize your research content according to the required poster format.

Part 1 of the workshop covers the main principles of design and layout techniques such as typography, colour, proportional balance, visualization, and the use of design grids. Participants will also learn how to develop a clearly structured poster by reducing the scientific content that it presents to the most significant points.

Part 2 focuses on the basic knowledge how to conceptualize an effective e-poster. You will understand that the e-poster concept provides a wide range of innovative possibilities to create far more than a digitally presented static poster sheet. Learn how to take advantage of the full potential of the digital medium that offers e.g. the incorporation of media files, hyperlinks, animations, zoom functions, and interactive elements. A vital benefit, that could make your poster far more engaging and informative for the audience.

The course will equip you with both the concepts and the practical design skills and provides the opportunity to put directly into practice what you have learned as well as to get useful feedback from group and trainer.
