The career fair brings young talents into contact with potential employers.

On Thursday, November 28, 2024, the career fair "Career of Diversity" will take place in the Erwin-Piscator-Haus in Marburg with a focus on the region around Marburg. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., students, doctoral candidates and graduates of Philipps-Universität Marburg will have the opportunity to find out about a wide range of career options in the region and make valuable contacts. This time, the fair has an additional focus on international students who want to gain a professional foothold in Germany and for whom the Marburg and Central Hesse region should be presented as an attractive location.

The aim is to better inform graduates of the University of Marburg about the diverse career prospects in the Marburg-Biedenkopf district and to show them the opportunities that the region offers. The University of Marburg provides training in a wide range of disciplines, but many graduates leave the region after completing their studies. Targeted information and education should help to ensure that more graduates recognize and consider the career opportunities in the region.

Around 40 exhibitors from a wide range of sectors – from the STEM fields to the humanities and social sciences – will therefore be offering information on starting a career in the region, as well as final theses and internships. The fair is organized by a cooperation between Philipps-Universität Marburg, the city of Marburg, Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft Marburg-Biedenkopf mbH, Agentur für Arbeit Marburg and IQB - Career Services GmbH.

A special aspect of "Karriere der Vielfalt " is the mixture of presence event and online components: Participants can use an event portal to arrange appointments with exhibitors in advance and thus clarify specific questions about internships, theses or career entry opportunities. The supporting program with 12 lectures, four workshops and seven activity stands offers comprehensive insights into the world of work. Experts will provide information on trends, challenges and career paths, including a presentation on starting a career with the Marburg city administration and a session on job market opportunities in Germany specially tailored to international students.

The careers fair arose from the initiative for the Marburg seal (“Siegel”) of quality "Interkulturelle Vielfalt LEBEN", with which the university town of Marburg and the district of Marburg-Biedenkopf regularly recognize employers from the region for their intercultural commitment.
