Language courses
The Language Center at Philipps-Universität Marburg also offers doctoral students language courses they can take regardless of whether they are enrolled. To take advantage of this, just tick “doctoral candidate” as your status and enter your staff account when registering. A language exchange or “tandem” to brush up on world languages is also fun and highly recommended.

Mentoring for women scientists
Particularly during a doctorate, contact with successful women in science and industry is important. Through mentoring, training and networking, young women are supported in the crucial transition phases, prepared for the profession in a practical way and strengthened in their career ambitions.

Educational leave
All doctoral students who are classified employees of the university can take part in recognized courses for political and professional continuing education or volunteer training for one week per year.
