2023: Internationalisation of career planning
Working abroad as a researcher can enrich your academic work, broaden your perspective and your academic network, and thus strengthen your professional profile.
But what does internationality mean for the career planning of young researchers? How important are stays abroad and international visibility?
The phd and postdoc meeting took place on 07.11.2023 and took up the topic of "internationalisation", which was already the focus of the Scientists' Day on 06.06.2023. The venue was the lecture room of the Center for Synthetic Microbiology (SYNMIKRO) (Karl-von-Frisch-Str. 14, 35043 Marburg).
The first part of the meeting was organised by the PhD students' representation. During the coffee break that followed, doctoral candidates and postdocs could find out more about various aspects of internationalisation. In the second part of the event, the video premiere "Show us: Where are you from? Where have you been?" showcased the mobility and diversity of young researchers from Marburg. The subsequent awarding of the prizes for excellent doctoral supervision honoured the special commitment in the active supervision of young researchers up to the doctorate.
At the end, all participants were cordially invited to an informal get-together.
