Association at the DFG Collaborative Research Center/Transregio 138
Scientists whose work focuses on the range of topics of the Collaborative Research Center or who are interested in cooperating closely with one or more of the Center's subprojects have the option of becoming an associate. This allows scientists to participate in activities of the research network - such as lectures, conferences, working groups - and to advance their own or cooperative research projects through exchange with other researchers at the Center.
A prerequisite for association is that the applicant's own research focus must offer clear thematic and theoretical-methodological links to the Collaborative Research Center's research profile. PhDs from the Justus Liebig University of Giessen, the Philipps-University of Marburg, the Herder Institute for Historical Research on East Central Europe, and the Friedrich Wilhelm University of Bamberg are eligible to apply.
Association does not imply any financial support or entitlement to full membership in the Collaborative Research Center in the future. However, associated members are allowed to participate in the general meetings in an advisory capacity, but without voting rights.
