Excellent research requires diverse ideas, perspectives and approaches. The participation of scientists from diverse social and geographic backgrounds is therefore essential for innovative and forward-looking research projects. Thanks to their different experiences and backgrounds, they can challenge and constructively expand established perspectives. The value of diversity in science and research is undisputed, yet it is far from being a reality everywhere. The Collaborative Research Center has therefore set itself the goal of promoting diversity across all status groups and providing an appreciative, supportive, prejudice-free working environment in which scientific and personal goals can be pursued equally. Likewise, the Research Alliance strives to continuously invest in equal opportunities for all genders and the compatibility of family and career. The working group "Diversity and Equal Opportunity" is the first point of contact for concerns related to this complex of topics.
