01.10.2022 The Collaborative Research Center "Dynamics of Security" welcomes visiting fellow Andrew Johnson
As of Oct. 1, Dr. Andrew Johnson will begin his fellowship at the Collaborative Research Center and will participate in the exchange and work of the CRC until March 31 as part of subproject C02 "Security, Police and Urban Space" under the direction of Professor Sabine Mecking. He recently defended his dissertation entitled "On the Uses and Abuses of History for the Abolition of Police" at the University of California Santa Barbara. In it, he analyzes the formation of police institutions in historical perspective and discusses the possibilities and limits of abolitionism in light of these developments.
