26.07.2018 New book series "Politiken der Sicherheit | Politics of Security

The Collaborative Research Center 138 "Dynamics of Security" is the publisher of the book series "Politiken der Sicherheit | Politics of Security", which is now published by NOMOS Verlag.

As a guiding concept of our present time, "security" is one of the central objectives in almost all areas of politics - for a long time now not only with regard to crises in international relations, internal or social security. Against this background, the series "Politiken der Sicherheit | Politics of Security" takes a look at how concepts and ideas of security have developed throughout history - from pre-modern times to the present. Of particular interest is the question of how issues became security issues and what political effects this had and has.

The German- and English-language series addresses historical, social, legal, and cultural studies research that deals with dynamics of security, discourses, and practices of producing and representing security. With its focus on historical security research, the series is open in theoretical terms and connects to the variety of "critical" research approaches ("securitization," "human security," etc.).

Members of the SFB/TRR 138 as well as interested external scholars are explicitly welcome to publish monographs - not least qualification papers - as well as thematic issues and anthologies with a clear content-related reference in the series.
