The CRC "Dynamics of Security" welcomes Philip Conway as a Visiting Fellow from November 2024 to April 2025.
Philip is an interdisciplinary scholar, working between international politics, human geography, critical theory, and the history of science. Having received his PhD in International Politics from Aberystwyth University, from 2021 to 2024 he was a British Academy Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Geography at Durham University. Having published widely in the fields of international politics, social theory, and cultural studies, his most recent publications investigate the relationship between suspicion and conspiracism, as well as affect theory and political ideology more generally. Philip is currently working on a book titled "Theory of Critical Traditions." While at the CRC, he will be focusing on questions regarding the structural critique of racism in critical security studies.
