Jahrhundert
The project examines land peace trials at the Imperial Chamber Court and Imperial Court of Justice in the 16th century with a focus on procedures and legal norms to which the judges referred in their decision-making. In the context of subservient unrest, the focus will also be on procedures developed by the courts themselves to prevent threats to public peace. Against the background of historical security research, the use and semantics of the term "security" will be examined alongside to the question of whether it was used in an increasingly secular way over the course of the investigation period.
