Subproject A03
Securitization and dynastic marriage politics
2. Funding period (2018-2021)
The subproject aims at a comprehensive systematic analysis of dynastic marriage policy in the early modern period from the perspective of securitization. Marriage policy could appear as an indicator of structural security problems, but also point to their solution. The focus is on the interrelationship between princely succession and state security, which is the subject of three work projects ([1] digital overall indexing of dynastic marriage contracts of the early modern period in a database, [2] state and international law guarantee of succession, [3] dynastic politics and female succession to power).
