Securitization and Desecuritization in International Trusteeship Administrations

2. Funding period (2018-2021)

The subproject compares dynamics of security in selected cases of UN-legitimized external rule (Cameroon, Togo, Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste, Kosovo). The project examines context-specific and cross-contextual conditions of the emergence and use of repertoires of securitization and de-securitization in the course of building a new statehood, as well as their impact on the consolidation and challenge of fiduciary rule.
