'Vindicta' (vengeance resp. punishment) as a Security Issue
2. Funding period (2018-2021)
"Vindicta" denotes both revenge and avenging punishment and thus refers to the ambivalence that revenge in the late medieval German empire was on the one hand partially integrated into the legal system, but on the other hand represented a threat to peace like all forms of self-violence. On the basis of theological texts in particular, heuristics and repertoires for the demarcation of legitimate and illegitimate violence and for the securitization of self-violence in general and revenge in particular will be examined in this field of tension.
